Sarah & Justin - Waiheke Island

Man O’War Vineyards Wedding Photographer

I have never been so pleased to see a wedding photographer as I was at Sarah and Justin’s wedding at the Man O’ War Vineyards as I knew that I just would not be able to remember every detail of their amazing wedding! Sarah had been visiting the beautiful island of Waiheke in New Zealand to see her grandparents, since she was a child. Her wedding to Justin took place there last December in the stunning setting of the vineyard. It was a beautiful day of love, surrounded by family and closest friends and captured forever through the lens of their wedding photographer.
Joining the couple on their wedding day was just so special as we had watched their love story unfold and had shared their tears of joy when Justin proposed after Sarah had been abroad teaching for six months. Sarah has always loved the island Waiheke so it was a natural choice of venue for their wedding day. It was marvellous for us all to stay together there for the weekend, enjoying special and sometimes nostalgic moments and creating wonderful memories.
The vineyard was the perfect setting for the celebration of the couple’s marriage as it was relaxed and intimate. The ceremony took place outside in the sunshine in front of a small white chapel and Sarah looked stunning in her two-piece suit as she walked towards Justin, surrounded by her bridesmaids and flower girls to ‘How Long Will I Love You’ sung by Avya. The celebrant, Hillary (a family friend for many years) made the ceremony warm and personal and we all felt that the journey to the island to witness it was so worthwhile and as they exchanged their vows we all quietly renewed ours too.
Afterwards we all celebrated with fun and laughter and more than a few tears during poignant moments. It was so special to be able to enjoy the luxury of time in each others company and to be honest, the hours passed by in a glorious whirlwind of emotions, dreams, love and new commitments admidst bridesmaids’ dresses, bouquets of locally grown flowers, a celebration meal and Danish wedding cake and of course, fine wines from the vineyard.
Now, just six months later, I am here looking at the wedding photographs and reliving the memories of fun, laughter and the strength of Sarah and Justin’s love. The photographs have captured their special glances, their kisses and the warmth of their embrace and when I look at the photographs of their wedding ceremony, I can hear the music and their vows, feel the warmth of the sun and even smell the fragrance of Waiheke…..
They say a photograph says a thousand words and I know now this is true…
